Personal Project - Ascetic
Vrksasana is part of my Ascetic series exploring the self.
Trees are patient creatures. Balanced and stable they live a long, quiet time, and they know how to stand firm through all the changes of day and night, climate and season. Standing firm in the face of adversity from nature and man. Inducing similarities, if you emulate a tree you need to stay still, be calm and steady. This captivity is not forever, only temporary.
Ascetic Rationale
As such, asceticism represents the ultimate form of discipline, where the individual deliberately renounces all forms of worldly pleasure and material possessions, in order to achieve a higher spiritual goal. It is a journey of self-discovery that requires immense dedication, devotion and determination.
Through this series, I aim to delve deeper into the principles and practices of asceticism, and explore how they can be applied to our modern lives. I will be sharing my personal experiences, insights and tips on how to incorporate these practices into our daily routines, in order to achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Some of the topics that I will be covering in this series include meditation, mindfulness, yoga, fasting, celibacy, and self-denial. I will also be exploring the role of community and support systems in the journey towards enlightenment, and the challenges that one may encounter along the way.
Overall, my hope is that this series will inspire and motivate others to embark on their own spiritual journey, and to cultivate the strength and discipline necessary to overcome any obstacles that may arise. By living a life of asceticism, we can learn to appreciate the simple things in life, and find true happiness and contentment in the present moment.
